A REMINDER THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. If you or a guest does not currently have a ticket in hand they will not be able to attend. Unfortunately because of capacity issues, we do not have any flexibility
LOCATION:
The Event will be hosted at the Dockside On The Cove Restaurant in Lighthouse Cove, Ontario Canada.
466 Tisdelle Drive, Tilbury, ON, N0P 2L0
RAIN DATE:
Sunday, July 28th, 2019. Attendees will be notified by text and email by 5 PM Thursday July 25th if the event will be delayed to Sunday. Sunday the event will run rain or shine.
SAFETY:
- Certified Life Jackets are to be worn by all passengers and drivers while boats are in motion.
- Lanyards are to be worn by drivers at all times during the run.
- Water levels are extremely high. Captains need to watch for “dead heads” and other potential floating debris throughout the lake.
- Drivers are asked to abide by all no wake and speed limit zones. Once again, high water dictates the need for caution.
- This is not a race; there is no reward for getting there faster.
- Passengers should each have a safe place to sit.
- Boats should not be operating within close proximity to each other, shore or other anchored vessels.
- As a result of the very different speeds of the boats involved, it will be extremely important for all participants to be looking around and behind for approaching traffic.
- Drivers should pick a lane, and stay in it, unless they are sure it is safe behind and in front to move over.
- Random spot safety checks will be done throughout the day to ensure your safety.
- All participating vessels must have valid insurance and comply with all safety regulations.
DOCKING:
If you would like to leave your boat overnight either the Friday night before or Saturday the night of; you must reach out to event organizers before-hand.
Plenty of docking is available at the Dockside and Cove Marina. Overnight docking in front of the Dockside restaurant is free. Beyond the fence is Cove Marina, and their overnight rate is $1.75 per foot. They have bathroom facilities and a pool!
There is a good launch ramp at cove Marina. In and out is 20$, pay someone from the Marina or leave money in the red box.
During the event, docking space will be at a premium and rafting off will be necessary. Make sure you have adequate ropes and bumpers in your boat. Please dock safe and courteous and remember to lend a hand to your fellow participants docking. Rafting off should be done beside similar sized boats if possible.
TRAILER PARKING:
If you intend to launch your boat that morning, please let organizers know that you’ll need trailer parking. After launching, you’ll follow an event golf cart to a local parking area and get a ride back. Please give yourself plenty of time to launch, park, register, and get breakfast.
